2026 State of the County Recap

County Administrator Aundrea Cordle sits down with Commissioners Steve Davis, Dave Levacy and Jeff Fix right after the 2026 State of the County, which was almost standing room only, with a wait list to attend. The commissioners credit the turnout to the collaboration the county has built with townships, villages, cities and community partners, including on the Workforce Center, and to the friendships between local leaders. Their summary under this year’s “Challenge Accepted” theme: the county is in a great financial position thanks to the work of the past ten years, it is unique in the state on workforce, and it is helping townships and villages plan for the growth that is coming. Commissioner Levacy ties quality of life to good jobs and the skills young people gain at the Workforce Center, and Commissioner Fix sets the goal of being the best-run county in Ohio. They close by thanking county staff and the countywide elected officials who make the work possible: “Fairfield County is winning with people.”
