On April 16, 2024, the Fairfield County Board of Commissioners passed resolution 2024-04.16.a; a resolution to approve establishing a public hearing to consider the designation of restricted areas which prohibit the construction of large solar facilities in Fairfield County, Ohio. These restricted areas would prohibit the construction of large solar facilities under R.C. 303.58(a). PROTECTING OHIO’S VETERANS: FAIRFIELD COUNTY RECORDER LISA MCKENZIE CAUTIONS VETERANS TO BE AWARE OF EXPLOITATIVE PRACTICES
Fairfield County Recorder, Lisa McKenzie, and the Ohio Recorders’ Association (ORA) urges Veterans to be aware of exploitative practices targeting Military Veterans who are being charged for services that are available for free. DD214 Direct, a company based in Arizona, is currently soliciting veterans in Ohio to purchase a copy of their DD214 form for a fee ranging from $79 to $99. While this practice may be legal, Recorder McKenzie and other County Recorders across Ohio want to ensure that Veterans are informed about the free services they are entitled to.

Fairfield County Auditor, Dr. Carri L. Brown, learned today that the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded Fairfield County with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This award is based on the production of the annual comprehensive financial report for the year ended December 31, 2022. The report has been judged by an independent panel to meet high standards for financial reporting.

Last week, Public Children Services Association of Ohio (PCSAO) announced the launch of a new shared practice model, Practice in Action Together (PACT). This new practice model was identified as a key component for modernizing Ohio’s children services agencies. Eight county agencies were selected to begin implementation of PACT, one of which was Fairfield County Job and Family Services – Protective Services.

COLUMBUS CEO NAMES FAIRFIELD COUNTY: A WINNER OF THE COLUMBUS TOP WORKPLACES 2023 AWARD
Fairfield County has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2023 honor by Columbus C.E.O. Magazine Top Workplaces. Fairfield County ranks 12th among employers with 350 or more employees in central Ohio. FAIRFIELD COUNTY WORKFORCE CENTER RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD
Fairfield County has received a 2023 Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACO) in the category of Children and Youth for its Summer Career Exploration Camps. The camps are offered free of charge at the Fairfield County Workforce Center to middle school students to introduce youth to careers in engineering, healthcare, and construction.
